About Me

I am seeking a new environmentalism that is not motivated by guilt. I am enrolled in the Individualized Masters of the Arts program at Goddard College, with a concentration in Environmental Studies. At Goddard I am researching the fundamentals of building sustainable designs that are attainable and just. I previously earned a Bachelors Degree in Environmental Studies from Eugene Lang College at The New School.

My ultimate goal is to create tools and services that bring people together to brainstorm, create and most importantly act to impact the environment positively. I envision these solutions being practical in the sense that they not be predicated on first changing the fundamental notion of humanity. Instead I see this work as what changes humanity over time.

My background includes training in music, creative writing and audio engineering. I have worked in several recording and previously ran my own studio. I now work as a freelance engineer and consultant. My work has included short and feature length films as well as writing and recording music with artists in a variety of genres.

Outside of my research I am an avid fan of science-fiction and heavy metal and I write a blog Celebration of the Nerd about my love of these things and nerdcraft in general. I have been married to my wife Alicia since 2004. She is a musician, studying vocal performance, she aspires to a carear as a profesional opera singer. We live with two cats, who just act like cats.
